PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
When you consult with us at Olam Med Spa, your medical professional will give you a set of instructions that you must diligently follow before the procedure. The instructions will be like this:
- Avoid using any nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen before the procedure.
- Avoid high doses of vitamin E supplements and St. John’s wort before the procedure.
- Avoid the use of aspirin.
- Talk to your physician before stopping any drugs.
- Arrive at the office a bit earlier than your scheduled appointment for the application of a topical numbing gel if you have discussed this with your medical professional.
POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Your medical professional at Olam Med Spa will advise you to follow post-treatment instructions to ensure the best treatment results and also to avoid side effects. Your instructions will be like this:
- Use cold compresses around the treated area to avoid swelling.
- Do not touch the treated area for about six hours after treatment to avoid injuring your skin.
- Wash the area gently with mild soap and water after six hours.

- Avoid exposure to heat and sun – this includes sunbathing and sunlamps. Also, avoid extreme cold.
- Avoid aspirin, St. John’s Wort, and NSAIDs for a week after treatment.
- You might experience mild side effects such as redness or swelling around the treated area. These will disappear within a few days to two weeks.
SIDE EFFECTS WITH JUVÉDERM
Juvéderm is one of the safest dermal fillers available in the market today, and side effects are rare. However, if they do occur, they appear as tenderness, mild pain, bruising, and swelling around the injection site. All these side effects will resolve naturally within a few days.
