WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE LIKE?
Ultherapy follows a simple procedure that takes about 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the area to be treated. This is a non-invasive procedure that is virtually painless. You may feel some discomfort while the ultrasound energy is delivered to your skin. This is completely normal and in fact, is a positive sign since it means that the collagen-production process has been successfully initiated.
First, the area to be treated is cleaned by your medical provider and any excess oil and dirt are removed. An ultrasound gel is applied, and the device is brought against the skin, where ultrasound energy is delivered to the targeted area. When pulses of ultrasound energy penetrate the dermis, it inflicts a nominal amount of damage to cells and causes your body to respond with a healing process. This skin healing involves the regeneration of collagen proteins. The result is firmer, smoother, and more toned skin.
We understand that the pain threshold differs from person to person, so we can administer pain medication in case of any discomfort. Usually, Ultherapy on the chest area takes the shortest amount of time, which is usually about 30 minutes. The face and neck areas take longer, usually lasting about 60 to 90 minutes.
WHEN DO RESULTS APPEAR
& HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?
While some changes can be seen in just a few weeks after the procedure, you will see optimal results in about two to three months. Most patients report that their post-Ultherapy skin lasts for a year or more.
Since the time it takes for the results to appear and how long they last depend on your own body’s collagen production, individual differences are to be expected.
