what is PRF?
PRF or platelet-rich fibrin is a second-generation platelet derivative. Unlike other platelet concentrates like PRP (Platelet-rich plasma), this technique does not require anticoagulants nor thrombin. It also does not use any chemical or agent to convert the platelets into a gel-like consistency.

How does
PRF treatment work?
The PRF treatment uses your own blood. Before the procedure, a specialist at Olam Med Spa will draw a vial of blood. The blood is then placed inside a centrifuge machine which separates the PRF from the other components. PRF does not have any blood-thinning chemicals or gel separating plug typically found in PRP preparations. It has also been shown to contain more growth factors over traditional PRP.
After the PRF has separated, it is then harvested from the vial into a syringe. It is injected into the affected areas to enhance facial volume. Since there are no additives or chemicals used, the PRF injection should occur within 10 to 15 minutes after preparation. Doing so ensures that the PRF can be injected as a liquid and allowed to clot once injected at the affected tissue site. The absence of anticoagulants allows a fibrin clot to form after the injection which allows for the slow release of growth factors over several days.
Fibrin is a naturally occurring fibrous protein that plays a key role in wound healing. It promotes skin restoration and is effective against damaged skin. It not only gives a sustained volume effect but also plays a role in the long-term health of the skin and fat in the injected areas.
Hyaluronic Acid may be added to the PRF preparation in specific concentrations for increased volume and collagen enhancing effects.
There is no bruising during the procedure, but there may be slight swelling. The procedure involves no downtime and you can resume your normal activities in just a few days.
How long do
the effects last?
The PRF procedure is performed in a series of treatments. There is a gap of six to eight weeks between each treatment. The number of treatments you need will be determined by the healthcare provider at Olam Med Spa and may vary depending on your age, skin condition, and desired results.
The results of the PRF treatment usually last between one to three weeks before the volume dissipates. However, long-term results such as collagen production, skin tightening, and enhanced skin quality are noticeable after three to four months and can last between six months to a year.
Expected benefits and results from the treatment are visible after about six weeks from the initial treatment.
Can EZPRF be
