Do you need

laser tattoo removal?

Our laser tattoo removal in Pembroke Pines is one of the most effective and affordable ways of removing tattoos. It has been around for decades, helping many people all over the world get rid of tattoos they no longer want on their bodies.

Our procedure involves targeting the tattoo you want to be removed with high-intensity laser energy that is delivered in one strong pulse.

This pulse of energy then heats up the ink, disintegrates it into smaller ink particles, and dissolves it. In the next few days, the shattered ink particles are flushed away naturally by the body’s immune system.

We understand that a tattoo that was once significant to you may have lost its meaning, or maybe you simply don’t like it anymore and want to have it removed. The team at Olam Med Spa is here to help you with that.

Black ink vs.

Colored ink

There are some differences in the way black ink and colored ink respond to laser energy. Black ink shatters easily and is the easiest ink to remove, also other colors like brown, green, and dark blue are relatively easy to remove compared to other colors.

If your tattoo is multi-colored, you may need treatment with different wavelengths, depending on the colors of the ink on your tattoo. Darker, more colorful tattoos will be more time-consuming than simple tattoos with just black ink. Additionally, other factors, such as the size of the tattoo also dictate how many sessions you will need to completely get rid of your tattoo.

What is the

procedure like?

At Olam Med Spa, we use the Spectrum Q-Switched YAG laser device for our tattoo removal in Pembroke Pines. This is the most commonly used type of laser used for removing tattoos and has been the number one option of medical professionals for more than 20 years.

During the procedure, you will have to wear an eye shield in order to protect your eyes from the laser. Then, the tattooed area on your skin is numbed by applying a local anesthetic. Your medical provider customizes the settings on the device and brings the head of the device close to your skin, allowing intense light energy to be delivered in a single, powerful pulse.

The light energy penetrates the skin, shatters the tattoo ink, and dissolves it over time until the tattoo eventually fades from view. The surrounding tissue is unharmed by the laser, thanks to its high precision.

The procedure for laser tattoo removal can be uncomfortable, and you will feel mild to moderate pain, but not unbearable. In fact, it will be less painful than getting your tattoo.

Post-procedure

care and recovery

After your laser tattoo removal in Pembroke Pines, it is normal for the targeted area to swell up, blister, and bleed a little. There is no need to be alarmed if these develop. They are part of the healing process.

It is important to apply an antibacterial ointment to the treated area for a few days after the procedure in order to prevent infection and aid in healing. Every time the ointment is applied, make sure to change the wound dressing as well.

It is also important to keep the area clean and dry, not wear tight clothing and avoid exposure to direct sunlight for the next two weeks. When scabbing develops, make sure that you do not peel it off.

Other than this, your medical provider will share any important aftercare instructions that you need to know.

How many treatments

will I need?

You will need more than one laser tattoo removal session in order to completely get rid of your tattoo. Usually, it takes about six to eight treatment sessions, depending on the size and colors of the tattoo.

Between each treatment session, you will have to wait about six to eight weeks. This gives your skin enough time to heal and be ready for the next laser treatment.

Who is a suitable candidate

for laser tattoo removal?

Anyone who wishes to have a tattoo removed from their body can benefit from laser tattoo removal. Usually, people with lighter skin tones see more favorable results with this treatment. This is because, with people of darker skin tones, the laser has the potential to change the color of their skin.

Laser tattoo removal is also more effective on older tattoos as the ink is likely to shatter easier compared to newer tattoos.

It is important to have an in-depth consultation session with your medical provider to ensure that this is the right procedure for you. During your consultation, make sure to share any skin conditions you have that could affect the treatment, such as eczema and herpes.
